I want to preface this post with a little disclaimer. I am in no way a beauty/make-up/hair expert or professional. However, I do my research, especially when it comes down to spending hard-earned money on products! These 6 products I’m going to share with you I have used for several months (if not years) and I LOVE them. They are products I never hesitate to swipe that card on.
1. OGX Nourishing + Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum- $5.74 for 4 fl. oz. at Walmart
I stumbled upon this product looking for something inexpensive that would help keep my hair healthy, nourished, and protect my breaking ends. I use it every time I get out of the shower and I have for about two years. I use just one squirt onto my palm and then rub it into about the bottom 6-8 inches of my hair. This helps to keep my hair shiny and helps to strengthen and repair my damaged ends. Major plus… who doesn’t love the smell of coconut?!
2. Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer- $28 for 8.5 fl. oz. at Sephora
This stuff is incredible. First, it smells amazing! I use it every day when I get out of the shower after product #1. The function of this product is to protect your hair from heat (aka blow dryers, straighteners, curling irons, etc.) I spray this all over my hair directly after using the OGX coconut product. I think it also secretly works as a detangler which totally saves people like me who hate to brush their hair as is.
3. Klorane Floral Water Make-Up Remover with Soothing Cornflower- $24 for 13.5 fl. oz. at KloraneUSA
This is the number one item that I recommend to other people when they ask (and even when they don’t). Klorane makes all of their products with plant extracts and free of sulfates. You know that little sting on your eyes when you use the classic blue make-up remover?! I hate that! This has absolutely no sting. It won’t harm your skin and it’s safe for people who wear contacts. This is great for people with sensitive skin/eyes. Added bonus: it comes in an easy-to-use bottle that you place your cotton ball on top of and press down! This is my favorite because I don’t have to worry about taking it out of the cupboard, unscrewing the lid, and risking getting too much or spilling it all over the place.
4. Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup- $26 for 1 oz. at Sephora
I have been using this for over three years. This make-up is perfect for anyone who has oily and dry skin all at the same time like I do! It gives the perfect amount of coverage- not too bold and not too sheer either. It’s light and doesn’t feel like too much if you’re going for a natural everyday look. The price is great and it’s a bonus that most large department stores, Ulta, and Sephora all sell Clinique products. I generally apply it with a beauty blender sponge. It blends easily for the perfect amount of even coverage.
5. Philips Sonicare™ 2 Series Plaque Control Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush- $39.99 at Target
When the electronic toothbrush first started I was like, wow isn’t that why we have hands?! I did not understand the craze so I never was willing to put my money into it. One day I was at the dentist, complaining for the hundredth time about my extremely sensitive gums when my dentist suggested I may be brushing too vigorously without even knowing (I also had gum surgery and issues when I first got my braces on so don’t worry this isn’t the only reason for my sensitive gums and teeth). My husband and I got Sonicare toothbrushes from our wedding registry and bam! It’s magical! My teeth are becoming less sensitive, it has a buzz timer that goes off every 30 seconds for 2 minutes so that you brush long enough AND the next time I went to the dentist my hygienist said, “Do you use an electronic toothbrush? I can tell!!” because my teeth were so clean and well taken care of. That’s worth the money right there if you ask me.
6. Peek Beauty’s Expresso Natural Stain Brow Powder $22 only online at peekbeauty.co
Last but certainly not least, my favorite brow stain powder! I was introduced to this product through my Ipsy subscription. I absolutely love it! Each palette comes with two colors so you can blend to the exact color that you want on your eyebrows and it really does work like a stain. My eyebrow color stays on the entire day without getting droopy or dull (like some eyeshadow powder does). I just looked at their website again and they have now come out with three different palettes. One for brow/dark hair, one for blondes, and one for red hair! The best part about this little beauty secret is that its in a tiny little tin, easy to carry and travel with, and it lasts SO long!
